Andrew Tuan Vu (he/him)

Founder + Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Andrew Tuan Vu (he/him) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). Andrew completed his Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University in 2023. Andrew began practicing psychotherapy in 2022.

Clients describe appointments with Andrew to be “full of laughter, vulnerability, and unconventional ideas”. Expect Andrew to take a Person-Centered Therapy approach, and to tell you things like “Get more rest” and “Take healthy risks”.

Andrew identifies as Vietnamese-Canadian, a Buddhist, a 2nd-gen immigrant, an introvert, an ADHDer, a person with depression and anxiety, a gamer, and a nerd.

Andrew readily admits: “I become addicted to every form of tech that I use: porn, Internet, gaming, YouTube, phone use, TV, social media, online friendships, dating apps, texting, gambling, investing, sports, rabbit holes … the list goes on!”  Because of his lived experiences, Andrew has spent years studying: “How can I help others harm themselves less with their tech use?” Andrew is happy to recommend tech reduction apps and resources for you to try.

Andrew is adept at working with clients experiencing: tech addiction, porn addiction, sex addiction, ADHD/autism, men and masculinity issues, difficulties with transitioning to adulthood, codependency, family conflict, depression, and anxiety.

Andrew’s favourite psychotherapy tools to use are: Humour (expect video game analogies), Applied Buddhist philosophy, therapeutic relationship, The 3 Circles of Recovery, The 5 Stages of Change, Parts Work, Mantra Work, and Core Beliefs Work.

Andrew has also completed courses in Tech Addiction and Digital Wellness, Addictions Counselling, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
